1. I realize the work plan is focused on Tier 1 and 2 invasives. Does this mean RFP responses must focus on these Tier 1 and 2 plants? Would you support Tier 4 plants? We are considering applying to assist with community education or hosting events to manually eradicate invasive plants, but most of the known plants are Tier 4. Proposals with Tier 3 and 4 plants will be considered. The PRISM is trying to encourage partners to look at emerging species Tier 1 and 2. Proposals will be scored by the PRISM steering committee based on completeness of project proposals and if they follow our work plan/strategic plan. Please note the criteria for selection, work plan and strategic plan: http://www.capitalmohawkprism.org/rfp-2019.html
2. Another idea would be to assist with supporting ecosystem changes that suppress invasive and encourage natives (seeding natives), perhaps by trying to create a "food forest"? Silviculture or Agri-silviculture practices that are tied to invasive species management along with our work plan would be acceptable.
3. The flock of animals that we have for phragmites cannot access the flooded areas around the lake. Another idea would be to write a proposal for manually eradicating areas around the flooded areas. Such a strategy would fall under our Management and Control section of our 2019 work plan.
